These preparations are a fast and original way of consuming more plant foods. The consumption of vegan burgers is slowly increasing all over the world because they are delicious and low calorie alternatives. There is, moreover, an infinity of variants. Here we offer you two. Choose the one that best suits your tastes. To your apron!

1. Vegan steaks made from quinoa

Quinoa vegan steaks are low in calories and contain nutrients that are good for you. Quinoa is a food rich in vegetable protein, vitamins B, C and E and essential minerals, specifically iron and calcium.

This recipe is easy to prepare and is a good option to consume more plant foods. We think of children as saying that.

ingredients

  • 200 g of quinoa
  • 100 g of carrot
  • 70 g oatmeal
  • 1 onion
  • 1 leek
  • 30 ml of vegetable milk
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • breadcrumbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Parsley, thyme and oregano
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • First, wash and rinse the quinoa, then bring it to a boil in a saucepan for about 20 minutes.
  • Pass the quinoa through the sieve and reserve it for later.
  • Peel the onion, clove of garlic and leek, then cut these vegetables in julienne.
  • Put the vegetables you just cut in julienne in a blender and mix until you get a perfectly homogeneous mixture. If you wish, before switching vegetables to the blender, you can cook them, but this is not necessary. In addition, it will take you longer.
  • Add the vegetable milk, cooked quinoa, oats, salt and spices of your choice. Stir well.
  • Now it's time to peel, wash and grate the carrots. Stir in the mixture and stir again.
  • Add the amount of breadcrumbs you think is appropriate. The idea is to obtain a consistent texture. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator for a few hours so that the steaks can take shape when cooked.
  • As for cooking, you can opt for baking or for the pan. If you opt for the second option, fry your vegan steaks on a pan hot enough with a drizzle of olive oil. Then remove the excess oil with absorbent paper. If you opt for baking, place the steaks on a plate and let them cook for ten minutes on each side at 180ºC (heat up and down).
  • Your vegan steaks are ready. All you have to do is go up your hamburgers and the round will be played. Enjoy your meal !

2. Vegan steaks made from rice

This recipe is made of basic ingredients, that is ingredients that we usually have at home. She can get you out of business when you do not know what to cook.

This recipe will save you the temptation of opting for already prepared and ultra-processed dishes on days when you will lack inspiration.

ingredients

  • 80 g of whole rice
  • 100 g of carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 red pepper
  • Wheat flour
  • breadcrumbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • First, peel and cut the onions, carrots and garlic cloves first. Then put them on a pan on which you have previously poured a drizzle of olive oil. Cook over low heat for about fifteen minutes.
  • Add the pepper previously peeled and chopped as well as the cooked whole rice. Mix well to obtain a homogeneous mixture and taste.
  • It is now time to form vegan steaks. Once done, strain them in cornmeal or breadcrumbs.
  • As far as cooking is concerned, if you have covered the steaks with flour, we advise you to fry them in a pan instead of baking them in the oven. Heat a good drizzle of olive oil on a pan and cook your vegan steaks one at a time so that the temperature of the oil does not decrease.
  • Once cooked, place steaks on a tray covered with paper towels to remove excess fat.
  • Your steaks are ready! All you have to do is go up your hamburgers and enjoy your meal. Enjoy your meal !

As for bread, we advise you to opt for multi-grain bread or whole wheat bread.

If you do not want to eat bread, a rocket salad with tomatoes, mustard sauce or a good vinaigrette sauce is a good option. A vegetable cream (zucchini, squash, spinach) is another. And for dessert, what better than a good fruit! You will be sure to cover your nutritional needs.

When putting together your burgers, you can incorporate the following ingredients: tomatoes, vegan mayonnaise sauce, pesto sauce, mustard, vegan cheese, mushrooms or any other food of your choice.
